Iranian midfielder Saman Ghoddos of Ostersund continued his excellent form with a goal scored in the 50th minute against Ukrainian club Zorya Luhansk in the opening match of 2017-18 Europa League group play.
The match was played in Lviv due to security concerns in eastern Ukraine.
Ostersund are currently on top of Group J due to a scoreless draw between Hertha Berlin and Spanish club Atletico Bilbao.
Next up for Ostersund is a home fixture against Hertha Berlin on 28 September.
Really glad that Saman is keeping up with his good form. It was disappointing that he wasn’t able to get capped for Team Melli in recent qualifiers against South Korea and Syria but hopefully FIFA will approve the switch soon.
I am looking forward to seeing what Saman can do for TM in next year’s World Cup in Russia. I truly believe he will be a valuable addition to the Iranian national team.
