Summer can always be fun because of the excitement of our Iranian footballers transferring to different clubs. We obviously want more of our footballers to play for better clubs, but in the meantime, let’s break down some of the rumors and speculation.
Alireza Beiranvand
Greek club Olympiacos appears to be interested in keeper Alireza Beiranvand. The Greek Super League is nothing special, but if Beiro signs, he will get the chance to see Champions League action.
Mehdi Taremi
Serbian club Red Star Belgrade supposedly had an interest in Taremi, but we all know that Mehdi tends to get homesick and he will most likely return to Persepolis after a short stint in Qatar.
Milad Mohammadi
Milad played in Russia with Akhmat Grozny from 2016 to 2019 and now he has to decide where he will want to play next. Tasnim news is reporting that Belgian clubs Anderlecht and Gent are interested in Milad. Scottish club Celtic is also supposedly interested in Milad, but I think playing in Belgium would be better because there is hardly any competition in Scotland.
Alireza Haghighi
It has been a long time since we heard Haghighi’s name mentioned in the news wires. Rumor has it that Turkish club Menemenspor is interested in the Iranian keeper. Menemenspor is in the second level of Turkish footbal, but it would be good for Haghighi to get his career back on track. I don’t see Haghighi taking Beiro’s job, but maybe he can be a consistent starter if he stays focused.
