Persepolis looked down and out trailing Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli on 22 August in the first leg of the Asian Champions League Quarter-Finals but an excellent game tying goal from Godwin Mensha in the 84th minute secured a 2-2 draw for the Iranian Pro League Champions.
Mensha came on for Mehdi Taremi in the 64th minute and it turned out to be the perfect substitution made by Persepolis Manager Branko Ivankovic.
The first leg was played in Muscat, Oman and the second leg will be played in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
I am glad Persepolis were able to salvage a draw but I think Al-Ahli are favored heading into the return leg.
It will be tough for Persepolis but getting off to a good start will be key if they want to advance to the Semi-Finals.
