Swedish club Ostersund have advanced to the group stage of UEFA Europe League after a 2-0 win over Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki on 24 August.
Both goals were scored by Swedish-Iranian striker Saman Ghoddos.
Ostersund lost the first leg 3-1 in Thessaloniki but goals from Ghoddos in the 71st and 77th minutes was enough for Ostersund to advance on away goals.
Recently I mentioned that Ghoddos should be invited to the National Team of Iran and we also heard that he went to the Iranian embassy in Sweden to apply for Iranian citizenship.
This sounds like everything is falling into place and I think it will be awesome to see Ghoddos in a Team Melli shirt.
The draw for Europa League Group Stage has already taken place and Ostersund will be in Group J with Atletico Bilbao of Spain, Hertha BSC of Germany, and Zorya Luhansk of Ukraine.
