Tehran – Sepahan, Zob Ahan, and Tractor Sazi got started off on the right note in the 2016 AFC Champions League with shutout victories.
A brace from Brazilian striker Chimba gave hosts Sepahan Isfahan a 2-0 victory over Emirati club Al-Nasr in Group A.
In Group B, Zob Ahan scored a 1-0 victory over Qatari side Lekhwiya in Doha with the goal coming courtesy of thirty-seven year-old striker Mehdi Rajabzadeh in the 46th minute.
Today in Tabriz, Tractor Sazi thrashed Emirati side Al-Jazira 4-0 in Group C.
Tractor found themselves up 2-0 after ten minutes with goals coming from Bakhtiar Rahmani and Shoja Khalilzadeh.
Nine minutes into the second half, forward Mehdi Sharifi extended the lead for Tractor to make it 3-0. Five minutes later Rahmani added his second to complete the 4-0 rout.
