The draw for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup took place on 4 May and Team Melli has been drawn with Iraq, Vietnam, and Yemen in Group D.
Obviously it is not surprising that the group isn’t very difficult considering there are now 24 teams participating in the Asian Cup.
Iraq will be the only difficult opponent, but I am looking forward to getting revenge and I definitely have not forgotten about that garbage loss to Iraq in the 2015 quarterfinals.
But let’s put things into perspective: Iraq only won that game because of help from the Australian referee.
I am hoping that Iran can win the 2019 Asian Cup, but we also have to realize that the classless Asian Football Confederation will do everything in its power to stop Iran from winning the tournament.
The Iranian players need to be smart and CANNOT get angry at calls that go against them.
Well, the 2019 Asian Cup will start in January. In the meantime, we got to get ready for the 2018 World Cup in Russia!
