The World Cup draw was on 1 December and as always, I was full of stress due to the fact that I am half-Mexican and I never want to see Iran get grouped again with Mexico.
I got what I wanted but in return Iran got put in a difficult group with Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
After first round exits in four appearances in the World Cup, Iranian football fans have been hoping to see Team Melli make it to the second round but it will be tough to get to the second round in 2018.
I am not giving up hope, I am just saying that it will be tough. Some TM fans are probably thinking that it will be too good to be true for Iran to make it to the second round, but I am hoping our Team Melli proves the doubters wrong.
