Back in 2014, Iran left the West Asian Football Federation to help form the Central Asian Football Association with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
I was glad Iran left the West Asian Football Federation because I always felt it was a waste of time to play in the in the WAFF tournament.
But when will there be a CAFA Championship tournament?
Are there plans for a tournament at the national level? So far there have been tournaments at the youth levels, but I would like to see more progress with the Central Asian Football Association.
In my opinion, I think it would be a good idea to have a tournament for all CAFA members at the U23 level.
Like I said earlier, I am glad Iran left the WAFF but there needs to be the opportunity for all members for participate in CAFA tournaments every year at different national team levels.
Just my two cents for the week. Hope everyone is well and getting ready for the 2018 World Cup!
