Back from the international break, only four Team Melli players were in action for their European clubs this week.
In the Greek Super League, Panionios defeated PAOK Thessaloniki 3-1. Anastasios Bakasetas opened up the scoring in the 40th minute but PAOK were able to level the score at 1-1 with a goal from Alexandros Tziolis seven minutes into the second half.
Fourteen minutes later, Bakasetas added his second goal of the match and Iranian forward Karim Ansarifard made the game safe with a goal in the 82nd minute to give Panionios a 3-1 home victory. Panionios are now fourth in the Greek Super League table and will face second place AEK Athens on 10 April.
In the 2nd Bundesliga, Iranian left back Ehsan Hajsafi played the full ninety minutes for FSV Frankfurt as they were defeated 3-0 at home by visitors FC Nurnberg. FSV Frankfurt remain in the fourteenth position while Nurnberg are in third and fighting for an automatic promotion spot.
Sardar Azmoun started and played sixty-seven minutes for FC Rostov in their 2-0 home victory over Spartak Moscow. Angolan defender Bastos put Rostov in the lead after two minutes and Colombian midfielder Christian Noboa added the second in the 20th minute. Saeid Ezatolahi was on the bench but has yet to make an appearance for Rostov.
Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow suffered a 2-0 loss at Zenit St. Petersburg and that means FC Rostov are once again at the top of the Russian Premier League table. Rostov look to build on their success when they face Anzhi Makhachkala on the road on 8 April.
Terek Grozny defeated visitors Anzhi Makhachkala 3-2 to move up to the sixth position in the Russian Premier League. Iranian defender Milad Mohammadi made his debut appearance for Terek Grozny in the second half when he came on for Australian defender Luke Wilkshire.
In the Championship, Charlton defeated Derby County 2-1 but Reza Ghoochannejhad did not make an appearance. Charlton are still in danger of relegation as they sit in the second to last position with thirty-five points.
Alireza Haghigi continues to be sidelined with injury as Maritimo defeated Nacional 2-0 at home in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh did not feature for AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie as AZ were defeated at home 4-2 to PSV Eindhoven. PSV are currently in second place and only trail Dutch giants Ajax by two points while AZ Alkmaar remain in the fourth position with forty-seven points.
