Rumor has it that Mehdi Taremi will be suspended for four months from Persepolis due to breaching a contract in summer of 2016 with Turkish club Caykur Rizespor.
I clearly remember being excited for Taremi joining the Turkish Super League but then all of a sudden he got homesick and decided to return to Persepolis.
I am not big on all these technical issues but if he signed a contract, then he should have honored that contract.
This comes as bad timing because Persepolis will play Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal on 26 September and 17 October in the semifinals of Asian Champions League.
This is also a big blow for Persepolis manager Branko Ivankovic as he will not have his star striker in Iranian Pro League play as well.
Either way I hope Persepolis can come out on top but it will be tough to get past Al-Hilal without Mehdi Taremi.
