Tabriz – Siah Jamegan defeated Machine Sazi 1-0 on 29 April with the lone goal scored by French-Serbian striker Goran Jerkovic in the 26th minute. The Mashhad based club are desperately trying to avoid relegation from the Persian Gulf Pro League but fell back into the second to last relegation spot due to Saba Qom defeating Naft Tehran 2-1 away from home on a late goal scored by Omid Jahanbakhsh in the 84th minute.
If Siah Jamegan want to remain in the top flight of Iranian football, they must win on 4 May when they host Persepolis and hope that Saba Qom does not beat Esteghlal Khuzestan.
