The knockout phase of Asian Champions League continued on 23 May and the results were not good for Persepolis and Esteghlal Khuzestan.
In Tehran, Persepolis were held to a scoreless draw by Qatari club Lekhwiya in a match played behind closed doors. The second leg will be played in Doha on 30 May at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
In Oman, Esteghlal Khuzestan took a 1-0 lead late in the first half against Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal on an own goal from Abdullah Al-Hafith in the 42nd minute but two goals early in the second half from Al-Zori and Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo gave Al-Hilal a huge 2-1 victory.
Esteghlal Khuzestan have a tough mountain to climb if they want to get past Al-Hilal on 30 May when the return leg is played in Doha.
