Rowshan played for Iran from 1974 to 1980 and is the second player to score a goal for Team Mell in a World Cup.
Iran had a rough time at the 1978 World Cup but surprisingly earned a great 1-1 draw with Scotland after losing 3-0 to Netherlands in its opening match.
The final match against Peru was difficult as Iran was down 3-0 after thirty-nine minutes but Hassan Rowshan got Iran on the board in the 41st minute to give the Iranian supporters something to cheer about.
Hassan Rowshan was well-known for having three stints with Esteghlal Tehran and he retired from football in 1988.
Today he is part of Esteghlal’s technical committee.
