Alkmaar – Iranian winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh featured the full ninety minutes for AZ Alkmaar in a home match against Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam at AFAS Stadium on 6 November.
Striker Wout Weghorst put AZ ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 13th minute.
AZ carried their 1-0 lead into the interval but Ajax equalized two minutes after the restart on a goal from Burkinabe forward Bertrand Traore.
Fifteen minutes laterĀ a shot from Amin Younes was parried by keeper Sergio Rochet but the rebound was tapped in by captain Davy Klassen to give Ajax a 2-1 advantage.
AZ looked to be down and out as Ajax dominated possession and out-shot the home side but Alireza Jahanbakhsh provided the pass that led to a an equalizing goal from Wout Weghorst in the in the 79th minute.
The brace from Weghorst means he has now scored six goals in ten appearances in his first season with AZ Alkmaar after playing the previous two seasons with Heracles Almelo.
AZ Alkmaar are currently fifth in Eredivisie with twenty points and will face Roda JC away from home on 20 November.
