Zagreb – Iranian midfielder Ali Karimi has signed with Dinamo Zagreb of the Prva Liga (First League) in Croatia.
The twenty-two year old midfielder previously played for Sepahan in the Iranian Premier League from 2012 to 2016. Karimi scored four goals in sixty-five appearances for the Isfahani club and was also apart of the squad when they were champions of the IPL in the 2014-15 season.
Ali Karimi has also represented Iran at the 2016 AFC U23 Championship in Qatar. Karimi will be reunited with Croatian football manager Zlatko Kranjcar.
Kranjcar managed Sepahan from 2011 to 2014 and this will be his third stint with Dinamo Zagreb after having previously served as manager of Dinamo Zagreb from 1994-96 and in 1998.
The former striker is well known in Zagreb after making over two-hundred appearances for Dinamo Zagreb from 1973 to 1983.
