Persepolis advances to the Asian Champions League quarterfinals after a 2-1 victory over Al-Jazira of Abu Dhabi.
The Red Army needed a goal trailing Al-Jazira 4-3 on aggregate and it was captain Jalal Hosseini who scored in the 90th minute!
The teams finished 4-4 on aggregate, but Persepolis wins on away goals.
Jalal Hosseini is one of my all-time favorite players and it was great to see him score the winning goal.
I don’t know about everyone else, but if Esteghlal beats Zob Ahan, look for the ultimate quarterfinal match-up between Persepolis and Esteghlal.
