Tehran – According to Tasnim News, Iranian forward Mehdi Taremi has returned to Persepolis nearly three weeks after signing with Turkish Super League side Caykur Rizespor.
Taremi was quoted saying that he wanted to thank Persepolis for paving the way to bring him back.
At the moment it is not known exactly why Taremi is so happy to be back with Persepolis. Football critics will be quick to say that playing in the Turkish Super League would have been much better for Taremi’s football development. Perhaps he was feeling homesick in neighboring country Turkey.
Fellow Persepolis teammate Ramin Rezaeian also signed with Caykur Rizespor on 28 June. It remains to be seen if he might find his way back to Tehran as well.
For now, Persepolis supporters and head coach Branko Ivankovic can be very happy that last season’s leading goal scorer will be wearing red next season in the Iranian Pro League.
