Grimstad – Iranian keeper Sosha Makani and Mjøndalen were eliminated from contention for a spot in the top flight of Norwegian football with a 2-1 loss to Jerv away from home.
The second half of this match was played on 19 November and the first half was played on 5 November but the match had to be suspended due to heavy rain and the international break.
Oddly enough Mjøndalen starting keeper Sosha Makani appeared for the National Team of Iran in a World Cup Qualifier against Syria on 15 November in a match that could have been called off due to heavy rain and a terrible pitch in Malaysia.
Eirik Haugstad put Jerv in the lead ten minutes into the first half on 5 November.
After a two week break it was Magnus Sylling Olsen who scored the equalizer right before the hour mark for Mjøndalen but two minutes later Danish midfielder Tonny Brochmann put Jerv back in the lead at 2-1.
Mjøndalen were unable to find another goal as their season is now over and will have to wait until next season for another shot at promotion to the top flight of Norwegian football.
