Mjøndalen – Iranian keeper Sosha Makani, who was recently suspended from playing football in Iran for six months, has signed a two-year deal with Mjøndalen IF of the Norwegian First Division.
Since 2006, the well-known Iranian keeper has played for Fajr Sepasi, Pas Hamedan, Steel Azin, Naft Tehran, Foolad, and Persepolis.
The top two teams in the Norwegian First Division will be promoted to Tippeligaen, the top flight of Norwegian football. The teams placed third to sixth will participate in a play-off for the last promotion spot.
At the moment, Mjøndalen sit in the fifth position on twenty-three points with fifteen games played.
On 30 June Mjøndalen defeated Hødd 3-0 with goals coming from Erik Midtgarden in the 11th minute, Mathias Fredriksen in the 44th minute, and Amahl Pellegrino in the 52nd minute.
Mjøndalen will face bottom of the table Raufoss on 3 July.
