Tehran – On Tuesday 28 June, current Iranian National Team players Mehdi Taremi and Ramin Rezaeian decided to leave Persepolis of the Iranian Pro League to sign with Turkish Super League squad Caykur Rizespor. Both players signed two-year contracts although details of the contract were not disclosed.
Taremi, a product of Iranjavan in Bushehr, led the IPL in goals by scoring sixteen goals in twenty-one appearances last season for Persepolis and has already found the back of the net six times for the National Team of Iran in eleven appearances.
Right back Ramin Rezaeian made twenty-eight appearances last season for Persepolis and has made ten appearances for Team Melli.
Caykur Rizespor play in Rize, Turkey and finished in the thirteenth position with thirty-seven points last season in the Turkish Super League. They have been coached by Hikmet Karaman since 2014 and this is his third stint as manager of Rizespor.
This is a very good move for Taremi and Rezaeian because they will be playing in a very competitive league and they will have the chance to help their squad qualify for Champions League or Europa League.
Tasnim News is also reporting that Esteghlal forward Sajjad Shahbazzadeh has been linked with a move to Turkish Super League side Alanyaspor.
The question now is which Iranian footballer will head to Turkey next?
