Tehran – Two matches finished in 1-1 draws while Tractor Sazi left it late to defeat Sepahan in Tabriz.
Tractor Sazi v Sepahan
Visiting side Sepahan took the lead in the 12th minute through Rasoul Navidkia but Tractor equalized nearly twenty minutes later through Cameroonian striker Aloys Nong.
The match seemed like it was destined to end in a draw but finished with some irony when Mehdi Sharifi, currently on loan from Sepahan, scored in the 90th minute to give Tractor a 2-1 victory.
Saipa v Persepolis
Ahmad Nourollahi put Persepolis in the lead in the 12th minute with a fantastic strike from outside the penalty area.
Saipa found their equalizer on a bizarre goal in stoppage time when a cross was sent into the penalty area by Andranik Teymourian. Persepolis defender Mohsen Bengar was in the six-yard box when he tried to head the ball out to safety but instead the ball went high into the air. The ball eventually came back down and was headed in by Mehdi Daghagheleh amid a scramble of players at the goal mouth.
Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic definitely was not pleased with the 1-1 draw.
Zob Ahan v Foolad Khuzestan
Mohammad Aleshakhe gave Foolad the lead in the 8th minute but his goal was canceled out in the 78th minute when a penalty kick scored by Vahid Mohammadzadeh earned Zob Ahan a 1-1 draw.
