Tondela, Portugal – Iranian keeper Alireza Haghighi was in action today in a thrilling match between Maritimo and last place Tondela in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Maritimo got off to a perfect start when midfielder Edgar Costa scored after only two minutes.
In the 33rd minute, Brazilian forward Dyego Sousa scored his tenth goal of the season to give Maritimo a 2-0 lead.
Five minutes before the end of the first half, forward Nathan Junior got the home side on the board to cut the lead to 2-1.
Edgar Costa received two yellow cards and was given his marching orders at the hour mark; Maritimo would have to play the remainder of the match with ten men.
Thirteen minutes later, Nathan Junior added his second of the match to level the scores at 2-2.
Second half substitute Erick Moreno scored in the 84th minute to put Tondela in the lead to make it 3-2. The stage was set for a dramatic finish as Maritimo were stunned seeing how they went from being two goals up, to one goal behind.
Tondela were desperately trying to hold on for the all important three points but Maritimo defender Dirceu scored in the first minute of stoppage time to even the score at 3-3.
Maritimo were in no mood to leave with just a point and they completed the amazing comeback victory when Senegalese forward Baba Diawara scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to give Maritimo the 4-3 victory.
Maritimo return home to face Academica on 28 February.
