Tilburg – Dutch club Almere City of Eerste Divisie have been eliminated from the Eredivisie play-offs by Eredivisie side Willem II.

On Friday 13 May, Almere City were defeated at home 1-0 on a goal from midfielder Erik Falkenburg.

Today, Willem II were too much for keeper Agil Etemadi and AlmereĀ at the Koning Willem II Stadium as the home side won easily by the score of 5-2.

Danish midfielder Lucas Anderson – on loan from Ajax Amsterdam – scored a hat trick. The other two goals were scored by captain Jordens Peters and Erik Falkenburg. The goals for Almere were scored by Ricardo Kip and Pelle van Amersfoort.

Willem II win 6-2 on aggregate and will face NAC Breda in a two legged play-off to see if they will be able to stay in the Dutch top flight for the 2016-17 season.
