Iranian football fans surely can’t be happy about FIFA’s four-month suspension on midfielder Saman Ghoddos.
This goes back to last year when Ghoddos momentarily had agreed to sign with Spanish club Huesca but then all of a sudden the deal didn’t go through and he eventually signed a contract with French club Amiens.
Saman is suspended for breaking the contract with Huesca and will not be available for Amiens or Team Melli until January 2020.
This is obviously disappointing and some of my friends are really upset. But for me, I can’t be very upset because this is something that should NOT happen.
We remember that Mehdi Taremi did the same thing when he signed with Turkish club Caykur Rizespor and then all of a sudden returned to Persepolis in 2016.
This isn’t rocket science. IF YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT, THEN HONOR THE CONTRACT!
I can’t say I’ve never had cold feet before. But this isn’t about me.
