Heerenveen – Fans definitely got their money’s worth at Abe Lenstra Stadium in a match-up between Heerenveen and FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie on 12 August.

Heerenveen took the lead in the 12th minute through forward Luciano Slagveer but it was Utrecht that went into the half with a 2-1 lead thanks to two goals scored in two minutes.

French forward Sebastien Haller scored from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute and two minutes later midfielder Bart Ramselaar put Utrecht in front.

Iranian striker Reza “Gucci” Ghoochannejhad came to the rescue and scored his first goal of the season for Heerenveen in the 69th minute. Gucci began his youth career with Heerenveen but only made two official appearances between 2005 and 2009 but has already scored in his second appearance this season for the Frisian club.

Gucci was subbed off in the 87th minute for Swedish midfielder Simon Thern. Heerenveen have tied both their matches so far and will be on the road to face NEC Nijmegen on 20 August.

In other Eredivisie action, TM winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh featured the full ninety minutes for AZ Alkmaar in a 1-0 loss at PSV Eindhoven on 14 August. The lone goal was scored by Mexican defender Hector Moreno in the 52nd minute.

AZ Alkmaar will be on the road against FC Utrecht on 21 August.
