Mjøndalen – Excitement and suspense continued for Mjøndalen in the Norwegian First Division as they hosted Sandnes Ulf on 2 October in a crucial match with play-off implications.

Entering the match, visitors Sandnes Ulf held a three-point lead over Mjøndalen in the standings.

Iranian keeper Sosha Makani was called into action in the first half when he stopped Swedish forward Pontus Engblom at point blank range to the keep the first half scoreless.

The match remained scoreless until the 90th minute when a long throw in for Mjøndalen bounced off a few heads in the penalty area. The ball made its way to Christian Gauseth and his header found the corner of the net to give Mjøndalen a huge 1-0 win.

The Mjøndalen supporters were ecstatic at the final whistle as Mjøndalen inched closer to a play-off spot and Iranian keeper Sosha Makani continued his steak of good form with another clean sheet.

Mjøndalen are now in sole possession of the sixth and final play-off spot with forty-five points and only trail Sandnes and Kongsvinger on goal difference.

Kongsvinger will host Mjøndalen on 17 October in what will surely be an exciting match as three match days remain in the Norwegian First Divisio
