Tehran – This week’s relegation watch was focused on two matches: Siah Jamegan v Sepahan and Esteghlal Ahvaz v Rah Ahan.

In Mashad, home side Siah Jamegan were minutes away from holding onto a point against visitors Sepahan but Uzbek center-back Fozil Musaev scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute to give Sepahan a 1-0 victory.

Esteghlal Ahvaz hosted Rah Ahan in a battle of the two squads with the lowest number of points in the IPL. Entering this match, Esteghlal Ahvaz had nine points while Rah Ahan had eighteen points.

The only goal of the match came just after the hour mark from midfielder Taleb Reykani to give Esteghlal Ahvaz a much needed three points in front of their home crowd at Takhti Stadium in Ahvaz.

Going into the break, Esteghlal Ahvaz remain in the last position with twelve points and Rah Ahan remains in the second to last position with eighteen points.

Unfortunately for Siah Jamegan, Malavan was able to get a point in a 1-1 tie against Esteghlal Khuzestan in Bandar Anzali. Siah Jamegan remain in the third to last position with twenty points but they are only two points behind Malavan in the IPL.
