Eindhoven – SC Heerenveen defeated Eerste Divisie side FC Eindhoven 2-1 at Jan Louwers Stadium on 27 October in the Second Round of the Dutch Cup.

Midfielder Younes Namli put the Frisian side in front in the 20th minute and fourteen minutes later Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad doubled Heerenveen’s lead to 2-0.

Eindhoven quickly got back into the match as twenty year-old Belgian striker Jiny Caenepeel cut the lead to 2-1 in the 34th minute.

Heerenveen dominated possession in this match and the fans were expecting more action in the second half but the score remained the same. A scoreless second half meant a 2-1 victory for Heerenveen as sixteen teams remain in the Dutch Cup.

SC Heerenveen are having a good season so far with the return of Reza Ghoochannejhad. Gucci – as he is commonly known – has scored four goals this season and added his first of the Dutch Cup.

The Iranian striker has shown time and time again that he has excellent finishing abilities and clearly the fans of Heerenveen must be happy with sitting in the third position of Eredivisie after ten matches played.
