Rotterdam – SC Heerenveen have been riding a wave of good results in the Eredivisie but a true test came when they faced Feyenoord away from home on 30 October.

Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad scored after five minutes to give Heerenveen the ideal start on a goal assisted by Arber Zeneli.

Twenty minutes later Nicolai Jorgensen equalized for the hosts after receiving a pass from Jens Toornstra.

In the 42nd minute, Feyenoord were awarded a penalty kick. Dirk Kuyt took the spot kick and it was saved by Heerenveen keeper Erwin Mulder but Rick Karsdorp pounced on the rebound to give Feyenoord a 2-1 lead heading into the interval.

The home side carried the momentum but the question was whether or not they would be able to put on the finishing touches in the second half.

The man who provided the assist to Gucci in the first half became man of the match for Heerenveen as Zeneli scored at the hour mark to level the score at 2-2.

The fans in Rotterdam were expecting a victory but both teams ended up sharing the spoils as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Feyenoord remain top of the table with twenty-nine points and despite the well-earned draw for Heerenveen, the Frisian side dropped to the fourth position in the table with twenty-two points due to a win by PSV Eindhoven over Vitesse.

Heerenveen will face Sparta Rotterdam on 4 November.
