Kristiansund – The 2016 Norwegian First Division season is winding down and that means two teams will claim two automatic promotion spots to the top flight of Norwegian football while four play-off spots will be up for grabs.

Mjøndalen were feeling upbeat after defeating Ranheim 6-2 on 18 September and are currently on a four game unbeaten streak with a huge 2-0 road victory over table toppers Kristiansund on 25 September.

Midfielder Michael Stilson struck at the perfect time when he scored in the 45th minute to give Mjøndalen a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Mjøndalen carried their positive energy into the second half and Jonathan Lindseth scored at the hour mark to give Mjøndalen a 2-0 lead.

Iranian keeper Sosha Makani was in goal again to get the win for Mjøndalen and actually got his name in the book in the 85th minute.

Mjøndalen currently occupy the 6th position and last play-off spot with forty-two points. Next up is a home match against 4th place Sandnes Ulf on 2 October. Mjøndalen currently trail Sandnes Ulf by three points.

Four games remain in the current season and Mjøndalen will definitely be looking to secure one of the four play-off spots as the season winds down.
