Cambodia: The Angkor Warriors

It is always my intention to be respectful towards other opponents but I do not know a lot about the national team of Cambodia.

The majority of the Cambodian roster is domestic-based with the exception of two players that ply their trade in Malaysia.

Cambodia advanced to the second round of World Cup qualification after defeating Pakistan 4-1 on aggregate.

Four years ago in the second round, Cambodia was defeated in all eight matches and only scored one goal while conceding twenty-eight.

This time around I would like to think that the Cambodians will work harder to allow less goals and it will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable improvement under dual managers Félix Dalmás of Brazil and former Japanese star Keisuke Honda.

But the fact of the matter is that Team Melli will be expected to destroy Cambodia and it may be possible to reach double digits in goals, especially when the teams meet at Azadi Stadium.
