Istanbul – Making their debut appearance in the Turkish Super League, Alanyaspor had to face Turkish champions Besiktas at Vodafone Arena on 20 August.

The champions got off to a perfect start when midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup scored in the 6th minute to give Besiktas a 1-0 lead.

Two minutes before the end of the first half, Olcay Sahan added a second to double the lead.

A brace from Cenk Tosun in the second half was more than enough to make the match safe for the Black Eagles. The Turkish forward converted a penalty kick in the 58th minute and added one more goal twenty minutes later to give his side a 4-0 lead.

Alanyaspor were able to pull one back when Emre Akbaba converted a penalty in the 90th minute to cut the lead to 4-1.

Iranian forward Sajjad Shahbazzadeh made his debut appearance in the Turkish Super League when he came on for Togolese forward Jonathan Ayite in the 85th minute.

Shahbazzadeh has yet to feature for the National Team of Iran but he is hoping to get more playing time on 26 August in Alanyaspor’s home opener against Antalyaspor.
