Amir Abedzadeh called up to Team Melli

Iran has two friendly matches coming up against Panama on 9 November in Austria and four days later against Venezuela in Netherlands.

After looking at the list of TM players I think it is great that goalkeeper Amir Abedzadeh got his first call up to the National Team of Iran.

Like father like son. We all know how amazing Amir’s father was when he played for Team Melli.

It still seems unreal to me that I met the legend four months ago when he was in southern California.

Amir Abedzadeh is currently playing with Maritimo in the Portuguese Primeira Liga but has yet to feature in league play but he did start in a League Cup match on 14 October against Torcatense.

Abedzadeh kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory.

It will be interesting to see if Carlos Queiroz will give Abedzadeh a start or some minutes in one of the two friendly matches.

The rest of the list is not very surprising but as we get closer and closer to the 2018 World Cup, it will be exciting to see which players continue to get called up to friendly matches and training camps.
