Our Team Melli, the National Team of Iran earned a 1-1 draw against Russia on 10 October in a match that was played at Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia.
Iran played well and obviously we all wanted the victory but it was great to see Sardar Azmoun score once again and in a venue that he knows all too well based on the fact that Azmoun began his career playing for Rubin Kazan in 2013.
The equalizer for Russia was scored by Dmitry Poloz, a former teammate of Azmoun from the time they played together for Rostov in the Russian Premier League.
